Pickpocket Mr. Rath
The key to unlocking the vault lies in the Rune of the Wolf, which can be obtained by pickpocketing Mr. Rath. To do this successfully, you’ll need to pass all your hiding checks. Remember that most NPCs’ line of sight is focused forward in their positions. If necessary, wait for any patrolling NPCs, like the wolf, to move away.
Steal the Rune of the Wolf
In turn-based mode, make your move to pick Mr. Rath’s pockets. The difficulty class for this theft is quite manageable, set at six. If you have any items or abilities that enhance your thievery, consider using them to improve your chances. Once you’ve acquired the Rune of the Wolf, move away from the scene as quickly as possible.
If you want to be extra cautious, you can take turns for each party member to ensure a safe getaway. However, it’s unlikely that any issues will arise if you follow the instructions carefully.
Insert the Rune
Exit turn-based mode and With the Rune of the Wolf in your possession, proceed to the empty-looking socket near the vault.
Activate the Vault
Insert the Rune of the Wolf into the socket to initiate the unlocking process. The tablet should combine with the socket, signifying your progress.
Interact with the Panels
Once the tablet is in place, interact with the four panels located on either side of the vault entrance. This action will cause the monument to descend, granting you access to the vault’s chest.
