Mario embarks on yet another journey with his friends from the Mushroom Kingdom and is also joined by the Rabbids. Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope sees Mario seeking out the Sparks and attempting to stop Cursa from taking over the galaxy.
The Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope Twitter revealed a new trailer that focuses on the story for Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope and says, “Shrouded in Darkmess, a deep secret could consume even the brightest light… Our unlikely team of heroes will need each other to triumph against Cursa in #MarioRabbids!” The new trailer also seems to give some insight into Cursa’s identity, possibly supporting a popular fan theory.
With the Sparks playing such a prominent role in Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope and Rosalina nowhere to be seen, many theorize that the Princess is actually Cursa. In the story trailer, we see Cursa’s eye turn from red to blue, very much the shade of Rosalina’s eyes, in a moment of recognition, looking at the Sparks. We also see a star symbol on Cursa’s robe that looks similar to Rosalina’s.
Whether or not Rosalina is Cursa is certainly up for debate, but what isn’t is the world and characters looking absolutely delightful in Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope. The story trailer showcases many of the environments you will explore, bosses, enemies, and more, so be sure to check it out on Ubisoft’s YouTube channel.
