The Plight of the House-Elf is a Side Quest in Hogwarts Legacy in which Deek (NPC) will tell you that his friend (Todd) is locked inside a cave infested with spiders and asks you to help rescue him. This article will guide you through all objectives of the quest The Plight of the House-Elf.
Starting Location
This quest will become available after you complete the Astronomy Class Main Quest: The High Keep. The Plight Of The House-Elf sidequest can be initiated by taking to Deek in the Room of Requirements. He’ll tell that his friend Todd may be in danger and asks you to help rescue him.
Talk to Deek
Speak with Deek (NPC) in the Room of Requirements. Deek will ask you to rescue his friend named Tobbs who is forced to work in a spider-infested cave at the edge of the Forbidden Forest.
Find the cave
Follow the Quest Marker to the cave name Spinners Cavern. Its is located east of Jackdaw’s Tomb which is marked in below map. Upon arrival, eliminate the spiders outside the cave before entering.
Search for Tobbs
Follow the path, leap over the first gap, and turn right. Use the Confringo spell to clear the spiderweb and then defeat the first group of spiders.
Continue deeper into the cave, keep defeating the incoming spiders. Jump another gap and crawl into the small cave.
Navigate through the little tunnel before sliding downhill to the Thornback Matriarch at the end. Eliminate the Matriarch.
Proceed southeast (left), leap across a gap, and shatter the boxes that are blocking your route.
Crawl through the narrow path and climb the wall to reach the Acromantula. Eliminate the Acromantula. After fighting the Acromantula, take the road west until you find Tobbs’ corpse. Collect the Note from Tobbs’ body on the ground.

Read the note in front of Todd’s corpse.
Tell Deek about his friend
Exit the cave and go back to Deek in the Room of Requirements. Speak with Deek to end the quest.
