How to Start Wandering Roots
To start the quest “Wandering Roots,” speak to Glyndwr at the Sacred Arbor after beginning “Halls of the First Dawn.” If you don’t speak Elvish, hire a Pawn at the nearby Riftstone who can translate. Glyndwr will then take you to his father, Taliesin, the city’s leader.
How to Complete Start Wandering Roots
Persuade Taliesin to Evacuate
Before proceeding, hire a Pawn at the nearby Riftstone to translate Elvish if needed. Glyndwr will take you to Taliesin, who refuses to evacuate unless you prove the Arborheart can thrive elsewhere.
Plant the Arborheart Cutting at the Seafloor Shrine
Before heading to the Seafloor Shrine, complete “The Ailing Arborheart” and “Out of the Forest, Into the Forge.” Once done, follow the quest marker to plant the Arborheart cutting. Return to Taliesin, and he will agree to evacuate, finishing the quest.
Complete the Quest by Speaking to Taliesin Over Several Days
If you haven’t completed “The Ailing Arborheart” and “Out of the Forest, Into the Forge,” you can still clear “Wandering Roots” by convincing Taliesin to evacuate. Speak to him each day, passing time between conversations, until he agrees. While waiting, it’s efficient to fight Lesser Dragons at the beacons across the Unmoored World.
