The Oxcart Courier side quest in Dragon’s Dogma 2 takes you back to Melve, one of the first settlements. It’s important to accept and complete it promptly, as it can trigger several key side quests. Our guide covers when to start, what quests it leads to, and the rewards for completing it.
How to Start Oxcart Courier
After reaching Vernworth and completing Captain Brant’s initial requests, you find Donovan at the east gate. He asks you to deliver a letter to Lennart in Melve, who might have assigned you the “Nesting Troubles” side quest. Donovan also pays for the oxcart fare to ensure your trip.
How to Complete Oxcart Courier
- Deliver Lennart’s Letter
Accept Donovan’s quest and board the nearby oxcart. If it’s not there, rest at the inn or on a bench until morning when oxcarts depart. Choose “Doze Off” to skip to Melve quickly, but stay alert for possible monster raids during the journey.Upon arrival in Melve, find Ser Lennart near the village well in the morning. He wears a feathered cape and has a distinct haircut. Deliver the letter to advance the quest.
- Get back to Donovan
When you reach Melve, it might be under attack by a dragon. Help the villagers by targeting the dragon’s boils to drive it off, which can trigger the “Readvent of Calamity” side quest. Afterward, find Lennart to deliver the letter. Back in Vernworth, speak to Donovan to complete the quest and receive your rewards.
After finding Lennart, he asks you to report your success to Donovan. Completing the quest rewards you with 5,000 G and a Miner’s Hosen.
