Introduction
In the “Gift of the Bow” side quest in Dragon’s Dogma 2, you help an elf improve his archery skills, leading to the Archer Maister skill. This guide covers where to start and how to proceed with the next quest in the chain.
How to Start Gift of the Bow
After arriving in Vernworth, find Glyndwr, an elf near the town square. Having an Archer in your party triggers a conversation about your bow, starting the quest and offering the option to gift him one.
How to Find a Bow
If you don’t have a spare bow, buy one at the nearby armory and return to Glyndwr. He’ll thank you and ask for a demonstration at ruins to the northwest. A quest marker will highlight the location, so prepare in town before heading out. You can buy the bow from “The Guardhouse“.
Glyndwr’s Place of Training in Gift of the Bow Quest
You must be an Archer for this quest, but if you forgot to change vocations, there’s no need to return to Vernworth. Head further northwest to an elven settlement where you can rest and switch vocations. After accepting Glyndwr’s offer to train, head to the ruins north of Trevo Mine, which is Mountain Ruins. Watch out for larger threats like cyclops along the way.
Assisting Glyndwr in Mastering His New Bow
Show your archery skills to Glyndwr by hitting the wooden targets on the stone arches. He’ll praise your accuracy and thank you for the demonstration, gaining the confidence to face his Trial of Archery. You’ll receive 8,500 G and a Ring of Proximity as a reward.
Glyndwr’s story continues when he returns to Vernworth a few days later for the follow-up side quest, “A Trial of Archery“.
